Having Trouble Making Your Mortgage Payment?

A home is one of the most significant financial investments that a person can make. To lose a home, due to events such as an adjustable interest rate change, illness, unemployment or divorce can be both financially and emotionally devastating. If you are facing a financial hardship, there are steps that you must take to keep your home.

Listed below are steps to take when you may be unable to pay your mortgage.

Contact HomEq Servicing As Soon As You Have A Problem
Many people are either too embarrassed to discuss their money problems or believe there are no solutions. HomEq wants to help you keep your home if at all possible. Our agents will work closely with you and explain the options available. The best time to contact us is when you start having difficulty. The farther behind you are on your payments, the fewer options there are.

Read All Mail Received From HomEq Servicing. Your Response Is Important!
If your payment is not received by the due date and you do not contact HomEq, we will try to contact you by both mail and phone to discuss your situation. It is extremely important that you respond to the mail and the phone calls offering help. If HomEq does not hear from you, we may be required to start legal action leading to foreclosure. This will substantially increase the cost of bringing your loan current. The hardest homes to save from foreclosure are the ones whose owners did not speak up soon enough so that all available options could be discussed and the foreclosure process had to be initiated. Waiting to contact us could cost you literally thousands of dollars.

HomEq Servicing has agents available to assist you seven days a week. Our business hours are Sunday 8:00am-5:00pm, Monday-Friday 5:00am-8:00pm and Saturday 5:00am-1:30pm PT. Please contact us at (800) 795-5125.
