Homeowners Insurance Requirements
Your mortgage instrument states that you must maintain insurance coverage at all times during the loan term. State insurance regulations require that a premium be charged for all lender placed insurance policies in force. Even without a loss, insurance is a guarantee that there would have been protection if a loss had occurred.
We will provide insurance for you when we have:
- No record of insurance on the secured property
- Received a notice of insurance cancellation on the secured property
We may issue a policy even if you have coverage in force if:
- Your proof of insurance may have arrived after we requested coverage. If this is the case, your lender-placed policy will be canceled and you will only be charged for any lapse period of coverage.
- Your policy was not acceptable. (A.M. Best rating deductibles, inadequate coverage, lender not named as loss payee, no windstorm coverage).
We will cancel a policy we have issued:
- Upon receipt of proof of insurance, the coverage will be canceled the same date as the effective date of your replacement coverage.
- If the effective date is prior to the effective date of our coverage, we will refund the premium.
- If the effective date is after the effective date of our policy, we will cancel the policy and refund any unearned premium, charging you only for those days that the coverage was in effect.
To Obtain Homeowners (Hazard) Insurance
Please contact your Insurance Agent to verify that your home is adequately insured. Provide your HomeEq Servicing account number to your agent, and please ensure that HomeEq Servicing is listed as the mortgagee on your policy as follows:

Please request that your new insurance company mail proof of coverage to HomEq Servicing at this address, or by fax to (904) 636-5147.
If You Change Your Homeowners (Hazard) Insurance
Your current policy should provide that HomeEq Servicing be notified at least 10 days prior to cancellation of insurance. When changing your insurance company, please contact Customer Service at (877) 223-7699 not less than 30 days before the expiration date of your current policy.
If You Already Have Homeowners (Hazard) Insurance
If you have an online account, please
login and update your insurance information online. If you do not have an online account, you can
sign up or contact Customer Service at (877) 223-7699 to update your insurance policy information. Once we have your insurance information and have confirmed the effective dates for your policy, we will remove any insurance we have obtained for you.
